Commission for Good Shepherd Catholic School
August 2024
As St. John Vianney famously observed, "our guardian angels are our most faithful friends because they are with us day and night, always and everywhere. We should often call on them."
This quote hovers on the cloud which represents heaven, where the Holy Spirit descends from upon the student, with the wings of the Guardian Angel envelop the students who pose for a picture in front of this etherial sunset mural.
Original Concept made between the students and teacher
I directed and planned this mural with my art club students inspired by the Archdiocesan theme of the year 2025-2026 "On Good Ground" at Good Shepherd Catholic School.
This deeply catechetical work unites the Parables of the Good Shepherd and the Sower with the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit, depicted as the roots of the tree, and the Twelve Fruits of the Holy Spirit, represented by oranges—the traditional crop of West Kendall, where the school is located.
